11/1/2022 0 Comments Garmin homeport review![]() ![]() ![]() I also have my laptop on board and in Homeport, I sync the Active Captain data to my laptop/SD card when I have Internet service and then while traveling without Internet on the laptop/Homeport I can look up bridge heights, marina reviews and fuel prices. When I travel, I load into my chartplotter with whatever folder (area) I am in. That is, I have a folder for northwest Florida, mid gulf coast Florida, south Florida/Keys. The routes and tracks are grouped into "folders" to make them small enough to fit in the memory of my old 4208s. The SD card has my purchased Garmin charts and it has years of routes and tracks from various trips and I and others have made. I use Homeport and the SD card that comes out of my Garmin 4208 chartplotters. But that said, I will share my basic discussion.įirst of all, I am not quite sure how Garmin operates and/or vets posts to Active Captain.
